The George Inn

The George Inn at Finchdean dates from the 18th Century and has been extended over the years to now offer a la carte dining facilities for up to 70 people. A traditional country pub and restaurant it is situated in a quiet village close to Rowlands Castle but still within easy reach of the A3M and A27. Ample off road parking is available.

The George extends a special welcome to families and has a sheltered garden area and large field to the rear. 

The restaurant has gained a reputation over the years for freshly cooked food and wherever possible uses locally grown, fresh seasonal ingredients. Meals are normally cooked to order; therefore please bear this in mind – we do not do fast food, we do good food as fast as we can!

Food is available between 12 and 2.00 pm and 6 till 9.00pm on weekdays and between 12 and 9.00 pm on weekends.

Along with an extensive bar menu and specials board we offer a full a la carte menu along with roast dinners all day Sunday. Our restaurant provides the ideal setting in which to enjoy the extensive menu.

Compliment your meal with one of our fine wines or sample from our range of real ales – The George has achieved the certificate of excellence from Cask Marque for the quality of our offerings.

A full catering service is also available for private functions and buffets. Menus for these can be produced to suit in consultation with the Head Chef.
